eLoger is a device based on a miniature, x86 architecture compatible microcomputer. eLoger has following features:
eLoger could be split into three parts, each giving separate capabilities and possibile uses (networking also) of complete device. The components are:
Depending on user's requirements application software can be adapted or extended to fit into his specific needs - by the user alone, or by us when order so. Given that, application range of the device is very wide.
Capabilities resulting from the device hardware and system software is given below:
Taking above features, our experiences and potential user needs, proprieatry application software was created. It is installed on each eLoger device. In case when that software do not meets your needs, you can take advantage of above hardware and system software capabilities and create your own application software, of course we will help you if it will be needed.
In case of using our proprietary application software, we assume that user works with eLoger by using standard web browser capable of running Java applets, and functionality given to user is:
Event functions are boolean (logic) functions, whose arguments can be
Additionaly, every argument can have timeout value. For example, event function Di(3)[1s]*!Ai(1).HiAlm[5m] can be read as: if third digital input (Di(3)) will be set more than one second ([1s]) and in the same moment (logic functor AND: *) will not be (!) exceeded: high limit (HiAlm) of first analog input (Ai(1)) for more than five minutes ([5m]). If that condition will be satisfied, a function will invoke actions assigned with it.
The actions can be: send email, SMS, message to be shown on main web page or to external serial port, turning on one of digital outputs (after given time and for given time). Optionally the digital output can be switched off after event function evaluates to false. Any event function can be used as event function argument on any remote eLoger.
Exemplary applications of eLoger are: remote data concentrator in distributed data acquisition systems, remote data logger or autonomous data logger.
In the first case (remote data concentrator) data acquisition and recording is done continually by supervisory computer. The concentrator when requested by the computer, performs measuring of its digital and analog inputs and replies to the computer with the measures. It poses simple control and regulation by means of relay outputs of eLoger.
In case of using eLoger as remote data logger, inputs values are recorded in internal eLoger memory and supervisory computer is being used to programm eLoger (setting working parameters), controlling recording process and periodical retrieval of data recorded in eLoger (eg. once a day).
If eLoger works as autonomous data recorder, supervisory computer is plugged into network only for eLoger programming and data retrieval. This allows to log data in cases when there are no possibilities or needs of setting up permanent data acquisition unit, eg. when measurements are done in open areas with notebook being used for data retrieval.
